I have been hearing about this great restaurant in Guntersville named Top O' The River the whole time that I have lived in Huntsville, and in my nearly four years here had never made it over there to eat. So as part of our weekend we planned to eat there tonight. We invited friends from Huntsville to join us which of course made it more fun. The parking lot was crazy. There were lots of trucks with boat trailers that had taken up several spaces and they of course were busy for a Saturday night even at the early hour of 5:00. They open at 4:00 and the parking lot was already full when we got there at 4:45. The waitress told us that the restaurant could hold 900 people. There was an upstairs and a ground level dining room, all with great views of the lake. The place was decorated very cleverly with lots of fishing and boating motif. The speciality was catfish which is why I went. I like me some fried catfish. Dave and the other couple ordered the seafood combo. The food was good and I felt a sense of accomplishment as I marked one more thing off of my bucket list as we walked on the pier after dinner.
