This book was published in 1995 which makes it dated especially when you consider all of the things that we can now do on our phones and computers. She came out with an updated copy in 2006 which I haven't seen. Dave teased me that I just wanted a pat on the back at how organized that I am, but in fact I am always looking for tips and more efficient ways to do things.
This is my favorite book of 2019 so far and I liked it so much that I am nominating it as one of my three suggestions for my book club the next time that we choose books. This is historical fiction based on a man living in Seattle in 1986 and flash backs to 1942 when Japaneese Americans were rounded up and sent to internment camps. The 1942 storyline focuses on his unexpected friendship with an American girl of Japanese descent.
This book literally took me and a friend five years to read. We started right after Dave and I left Huntsville and the idea was to read some, call each other, discuss what we read, then read some more. Well, at one point it seemed like we took an entire year off without reading or discussing the book. But finally, in 2019 we finished the book. Bonhoeffer is a deep thinker and thus the book requires a lot of thought as you read.
